Standard tiger nuts are 8–12mm tubers (often called "chufas") used as a highly effective carp and coarse fishing bait. Renowned for their sweet, nutty flavor and crunchy texture, they naturally release milky attractants and natural oils in the water. They must be soaked for 24 hours and boiled for 30 minutes before use.
